1- How do I view samples and select my favorite design style? back to top

take a look at our examples and pick your favorite style. After choosing a style you select canvas or semi-gloss paper. If you select canvas you may choose from 2 sizes of gallery wrap (1 1/2" or 3/4") and from 6 different frames. If you select semi-gloss paper your custom art work will be framed with glass using your choice of one of our 6 frames. No matter if you like canvas or semi-gloss paper we use the finest quality material to ensure that your custom art work will last a lifetime. Place your order and our designers will go to work preparing your photo art masterpiece. You will receive a proof to view and approve. Once approved, your order will be completed and shipped to you. Your custom art masterpiece will be made here in the USA.

3- What happens when I place my order? back to top

Once we receive your order our artists begin to put their talents to work.  They will first professionally evaluate your image(s), enhance and balance the color as needed, adjust the sharpness and contrast levels and make minor repairs to correct imperfections (like removing “red eyes” and correcting photo color contrast and balance).  Once this has been done they proceed to complete your order as you requested.  Whether it be a “Straight Reproduction” or an “Oil Painting Style” (or any style in between!), our team strives to use their artistic talent to create your masterpiece. Before the final completion of your masterpiece we request your “stamp of approval”, this ensures that you will receive exactly what you envisioned.

4- How Do I upload my photos?(file format, resolution and image size) back to top

Click “Browse” and locate the photo you want on your local computer. Click “upload” and you’ll see your photo in the preview area. Click Next to continue. If you upload the wrong picture click (X) to delete and re-upload. The preview screen will change to display the new photo. The optimal size for processing is 300Kb to 8mb (Right click over your photo and select Properties, select Details Tab and scroll to "Image") and it can be in .jpg, .gif or .bmp format. Output size is limited for smaller pictures. Contact our Customer Service if you have questions or need help. We will contact you within one business day of receiving your order. If you experience difficulties uploading large format photo (Greater than 1Mb) or multiple photos you may mail us the CD or the photo(s). Not sure about your photo size? Don't worry we will contact you if needed.

5- Can I email or mail my traditional photo instead of uploading? back to top

Absolutely!  You can email us your photo to info@customartonline.com Optimal image size is 300Kb to 8Mb.Not sure about the size? Don't worry we will contact you if needed. No digital photos? No worries.  Many of our masterpieces are created from snapshots. We will be happy to scan your photos at no additional charge. After you place your order, print order confirmation page, attach your photo(s) and mail them to the address below. If you’re unable to print your order confirmation page, write your order # and your contact info on the back of your photo(s). Once we receive your photo(s), we will contact you. We regret we cannot be held responsible for lost photos in the mail.  We highly suggest that an irreplaceable photograph is not sent.  As you know, items can and do get lost in transit and we would hate for you to lose a one of a kind photo. It’s best to send us a high quality duplicate.  Remember that the better quality of photo we receive the better your masterpiece will turn out. We will return your photo with your order.  Make sure to include your order number and full name in your package.

6- Can I scan my photo? back to top

Sure…you may use a flat bed scanner to scan your image at 300 dpi resolution. For the best results, save the file in RGB mode using JPEG format with the highest possible quality setting and lowest compression.

7- May I use a professionally photographed photo? back to top

The Copyright Act protects photographers by giving the author of a photograph the exclusive right to reproduce the photograph. This includes the right to control the reproductions. If your photograph was taken by a professional photographer you may need to obtain a written release. It is your responsibility to seek authorization to make and use a photo-to-canvas reproduction.

8- May I request custom sizes? back to top

We can do any size canvas from 8 x 10 to 40 x 60. If you need a specific size that is not listed, just contact us and we will be able to complete your masterpiece in the size requested.

9- How long does it take? back to top

You can expect to receive your digital proof to view and approve 3-5 business days after we receive your photo(s). Please keep in mind that Holiday Season and Custom orders are subject to extended delivery times.

Your order will shipped in 2-5 business days after your final approval. We will notify you when your item has been shipped.

You may request color changes and minor design alteration for no additional fee as long as we keep working on the same photo in the same design style. You will receive revised proof in 1-2 business days.

Please keep in mind that all of our designs are hand illustrated by actual artists. Creating each design proof by hand takes several hours due to our high standards and attention to details. To expedite the process you can let us know in advance which color(s) or color scheme to use for your design.

10- May I request a RUSH order? back to top

Some of our styles can be produced in 2 business days. If you need to have your artwork ready for a specific date please contact us. (Rush Fee 25-35% added to the total order and includes Express Delivery upgrade, you only pay the standard delivery charge)

11- How do I know if my order has shipped? back to top

Your order will ship 3-5 business days after you approve. We will notify you when your item has been shipped. We will provide you with a tracking # when applicable.

12- What are my payment options? back to top

Even though your order will not be produced until we receive your approval. Payment is required when placing the order.  At checkout, you will have the option of providing credit card information VIA our secure encrypted network. We accept MasterCard, Visa, American Express or Paypal.   If you would prefer not to give your credit card information over the internet, please Contact Us.
